Loved the wine cask!

From the moment we stepped in the door at wine cask i knew we were in for a special treat. high, dark wood coffered ceiling, authentic 19th century oil paintings on the walls, beautiful foral arrangements, and an oversized fireplace. definitely has that "wow" factor. we were there for lunch, and the menu offered so many great looking choices, it was very hard to pick just one. i selected the kobe beef cheeseburger. i can honestly say it's the best burger i've ever had (and i've had a lot!). the other entrees my party ordered looked equally delicious, and everyone said they loved what they ate. i can't wait to go back and try the filet mignon enchiladas. i wish i lived closer so i could easily go back and try everything on the lunch and dinner menus. believe me, i'll try.

Wine cask has been sold

This used to be the best place, depending on how the san ysidro ranch and the el encanto chefs were doing, to celebrate an event. now that doug margerum and his wife, laurel, who catered almost all of the good food in town (e.g., polo club, university club, etc) have sold it, it remains to be seen what will happen. still a lovely setting.
