Good shopping

Good outlet shops at a location that is convenient to lots of other attractions: legoland, the beach, the flower fields (beautiful when in bloom), the museum of making music, the gemological institute. other nearby shopping opportunities include a costco, tip-top meats (a great german-style deli) and a nearby auto mall. the restaurants in the center can get a little crowded but there are other good options within a half-mile in all directions. it's easy to go north to the nicely redeveloped "olde carlsbad" downtown or take the pacific coast hwy south on a tour through the eclectic beachtown strip of leucadia, encinitas and cardiff-by-the-sea.
