This place is so popular that it's become an Old Town tourist attraction in its own right. But proceed with caution. The original structure is wonderfully funky and frayed, while the restaurant long ago expanded into additional, less appealing dining rooms and outdoor patios -- and the wait for a table is often 30 minutes or longer. You can pass the time by gazing in from the sidewalk as tortillas are hand-patted the old-fashioned way, soon to be a hot-off-the-grill treat ...

Although this place can get extremely busy, it is widely known in san diego as the best mexican food in old town. the service can suffer because of the crowd but the food and fresh made tortillas make up for it.
