Update ListingThe new swish Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego’s Gaslamp district is open to guests as of November 1 and they’re taking reservations now. Getting the Black Eyed Peas’ Suite with a private balcony that overlooks Woodstock Terrace, the pool and Rande Gerber’s Sweetwater Lounge is sure to impress clients if you’re in town for a convention. But don’t worry the basic studio room is enough to get the bragging rights of saying you’ve stayed there.

The most horrible service ever!

We stayed at the hard rock for 2 nights & yes the atmosphere is great & it has a lot of amenities but i will never stay there again! the staff was horrible our entire stay. rude & assuming about everything. when we asked questions about the rock shop & we were told thats for vip only you are not allowed! or we were also told that certain tables at the pool were for people who would spend $3,000 only so we couldn't sit there. of course they never asked us if we wanted the table they just assumed we couldn't afford it! i am so upset about my visit & the rude staff. i am very disappointed because we stay at the vegas hard rock & it is always fabulous! bummer...don't waste ur money unless u enjoy be treated badly!

This is the place to party!

If you are looking for a good place to stay and party in downtown gaslamp san diego, this is the only place you should look. this was definitely the most amazing hotel i have ever stayed at. the amenities are extremely plush and i love the decor. everything is very modern. the hotel seems like they have finished construction finally and it was really a happening place. the best thing about the hotel was the location: it is right at the heart of the gaslamp in downtown san diego near all the clubs, bars, restauraunts, and shops. it is right off the red line in downtown and directly across the street from the convention center. 5th street is the best street to be on in downtown and that is where it is. the view from our room was an awesome view of the woodstock terrace where they hold concerts. i'd definitely reccommend this hotel to anyone who really wants a hotel above and beyond the rest.
