Editor's note:Now owned by KSL Resorts, Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa was previously a Marriott property.

New and noteworthy: A $35-million renovation has added a luxury quotient to the rooms, spa and public spaces, while a new mini water park draws fun seekers.

The stay: If visitors can tear themselves away from the lazy river, they may find that the resort is big enough to keep everyone entertained but compact enough not to ...

Great resort with kids

Posted by kristi  from dana point, CA  on January 28, 2009

Ciao bambino thought this was a great hotel with kids. the resort was lovely and exceeded our expectations. we all loved it, and in particular the grandchildren ages 3, 5 and 6 years of age. it is set on 240 acres in the desert, centrally located at the foot of mount san jacinto. the resort has undergone a multi-million dollar makeover, and has many things to offer: three pools, a jacuzzi, a 27 hole golf course, 25 tennis courts, a spa with its own pool, children's camp, a water fantasy land called splashtopia - a neat aquatic playground including a lazy river, two 100 foot water slides, and a small sand beach. the property also has two nice boutiques. there are umbrellas, but renting a cabana during very hot summer days guarantees shade and also privacy for relaxing and having lunch or snacks. www.ciaobambino.com

Summer fun

Posted by Jessica on September 7, 2008

My family and i had a great time in rancho las palmas. a great place for the kids in splashtopia. my 4 kids really enjoyed playing in the water. the service was great, the room was nice (with a great view)and we really enjoyed it! it is a great place for the family or just a little time alone. the family could play in splashtopia and you could get a massage or go in the adult only pool, which is very nice! we would definatly go back there again. everyone did a great job in rancho las palmas!
