San onofre state beach

The state beach is preferable by far to all non-park developed beaches. there is more wildlife, the wildlife is left in peace, and the humans that show up have at least half a chance to experience a natural coastal environment. yes, the noise of planes trains and automobiles is on the other side of the bluff, and yes, the nuclear power plant is a visible landmark, but if you are an urbanite in los angeles, san onofre is a close and friendly place to play for a day at being a happy old hippie, or at least one of their grandkids.

San onofre state beach is my favorite because it is clean and family oriented and the waves are ideal for surfing and swimming.
