Disney's original theme park features a variety of rides, attractions and shows in eight themed lands. Highlights include the Indiana Jones Adventure, Splash Mountain and the classic dark ride Pirates of the Caribbean. Junior thrill seekers should try the Matterhorn and Gadget's Go-Coaster. For evening entertainment, "Remember... Dreams Come True" an aerial fireworks show, is performed during the summer and selected weekends.
Crowds can be tough during the summer months and on weekends throughout the year. Arrive early, and be sure to get "Fastpasses," Disney's name for ride reservation times, for the more popular attractions.
Editor's note: As of April 2008, Disneyland was the world's 2nd most visited amusement park, after only the Magic Kingdom in Orlando, Florida, in terms of annual visitors.
