Update ListingAppeasing the crowds who can't get into The French Laundry, Thomas Keller opened this far more casual, very sexy French brasserie with a raw bar. Expect superb renditions of steak frites, mussels meunière, grilled-cheese sandwiches, and other heavenly French classics (try the expensive and rich foie gras pâté, made on-site). My favorites include the bibb lettuce salad (trust me on this), french fries (perhaps the valley's best), and roaste...

Snubbed again!

My wife and i have been to bouchon twice times over the last few years. the first time was for her birthday. the second time, we were entertaining relatives who were visiting. both times, we made reservations. both times, we had to sit and wait for well over 45 minutes after the reservation time, while we watched them seat several parties who just walked in from the hotel across the street ahead of us. when i pointed this out the the maitre d', he just nodded, and said "un-huh". the food is good, but the service is absolutely condescending and insulting. we thought the first time might have been a "fluke", so we gave them a second chance. never again! if you like paying astronomical prices for run-of-the-mill napa valley cuisine, while being enraged and insulted by the help, then by all means, go to bouchon.

Bad service, dishonest management!

My wife and i were expecting this to be a nice place based on reviews we read. the food was ok, but nothing spectacular. however, we were bitterly disappointed with the service - it was terrible - we had a hard time getting the attention of the waitress at all - even when she took our orders she was looking elsewhere. later, we had to walk to the bar to ask for service as for 40 min. the waitress simply ignored our waiving.
we left 10% tip since we weren't satisfied, but when we got home we found that they had charged us 20% on our credit card. when we complained to the restaurant they apologized and said they'll refund the amount.
six months later, we hadn't received the refund, so we called again. the chef personally responded with an e-mail and said he'll send us a refund and a gift card for the restaurant. a year later, still haven't received anything...
