Artesa is one of my favorite stops, for its views, modern architecture, seclusion, and region-specific pinot noirs. Arrive when the wind is blowing less than 10 mph, and the fountains are captivating (they automatically shut off with higher winds). Inside the fescue grass-covered winery is a tasteful gift shop, a room outlining history and details on the Carneros region, and a long bar where $10 to $15 tastes include everything from chardonnays and pinot noirs to sauvignon...
