On the top-20 list of just about every luxury travel publication is this 57-room boutique "lodge" in scenic Carmel Valley. Bernardus Pon, who owns the Bernardus Winery and Vineyard, must have spent a small fortune to build his eponymous resort, which consists of a main lodge, nine adobe-style guest houses, two restaurants, a meditation garden, a croquet lawn and bocce court, two tennis courts, and a pool. Great hotel with kids

Posted by kristi  from dana point, CA  on February 20, 2009

Ciao bambino thinks this is a great hotel with kids. bernardus lodge is a cozy retreat set in the vineyards and mountains of the idyllic carmel valley. although the property is a well-known romantic getaway, in recent years kids are frequent guests, particularly over the summer months. a few key amenities make it fun for them including an expansive croquet lawn and a lovely swimming pool. there is also a wonderful outdoor dining area. those seeking quiet and romance still find it in the adult-only spa and the award-winning marinus restaurant. in addition to the spectacular scenery, one nice benefit of carmel valley is that it is often sunny when the coast is foggy, yet this location still provides easy access to the monterey peninsula's numerous attractions for kids. read the full review of bernardus lodge at http://www.ciaobambino.com/profile_commreview.asp?id=1685 or visit www.ciaobambino.com.
