Enjoyed the review and being here, living it

I just read valli herman's review of the w hotel westwood. i am staying here and by absolute coincidence, i found the story tonight as i was reading other sections of the web edition. i want you to know how spot-on this story is. i entered my room tonight and my first thought was "form over function." how do i turn off this goofy double-jointed light by the bed? why don't my hands fit under the faucet? why are lawn chairs next to the desk? why is there all this stuff (stainless-steel vases, clocks which make me think of "the scream" and shutters that do not open) in my way? i am not a picky person but the whole design experience is odd. so far, the service experience has been quite good. every "cast member," as they call them, have called me by name. they even have invited me to tomorrow's fire drill at 10 a.m. by the pool. anyway, i just wanted to drop you a note. i enjoyed the review and being here, living it, i just wanted you to know how accurate and well-detailed it is.
