Theatrical, coveted, sophisticated -- this is the kind of place superhotelier Ian Schrager has created from a once-drab apartment building. Working with his regular partner, enfant terrible French designer Philippe Starck (as he successfully did at Miami's Delano and Manhattan properties like the Royalton and Hudson), Schrager used the Mondrian's breathtaking views (from every room) as the starting point for his vision of a "hotel in the clouds." What a mess

Posted by Richie and Ann  from st. john, NB, CA  on February 27, 2008

The poor ladies at the cro did their best to assure me and my wife of a lovly stay. i have to say the ammenidites were lovely but the rest of the place was a dump. but after all we were told that this place is being renovated. we knew what we were getting ourselves. heaven help the people who stay there, just enjoy the facility but expect the worst of the room.

i have to admit that booking with the reservations ladies was a wonderful experience and the staff in the resterant and skybar were beyond amazing but the rest of the staff need to be taught what it is to give good customer service.

overall i was happy but i hope what when they finish in october that the place will be just as wonderful as the ammenities.
