An extensive $7-million renovation of this legendary 13-story Sunset Strip hotel back in 1997 erased any last remnants of its former debauched life as the rock-'n'-roll "Riot Hyatt." It doesn't even look like other Hyatts, since the management eschewed the standard corporate decor and contracted locally; the end result is a stylish cross between the clean black-and-white geometrics of a 1930s movie set and a Scandinavian birch-and-ebony aesthetic. While not as fancy as the...

We only picked this place because we were producing a show at hob and have never been in one of these hotels before. first after calling the office front desk three weeks before our arrival and once the day before to confirm, we got there and the reservations were all wrong. then we get to our rooms. oh my goodness the rooms were filthy. the carpet was so stained i wore socks at all time while walking around. the curtains had some black oily bots on them and just dusty dirty. then while in the room the heat wouldn't come on. wait for it people wait for it. they brought me a space heater. come on. ooh my god. the only reason we didn't leave is because we knew we would be exhausted after the show at hob. the piece of resistance: while checking out and asking for a manager we tell the front desk clerk/manager about what happen she said "the stained carpet is what everyone complains about when they come here. the rooms get cleaned but the carpet and the curtains have looked like that for a very long time". wow wow wow wow she didn't say well let us have you back here is a coupon for another night in a nicer room; just yeah this place sucks thanks for staying an paying. do not go here people save you money and sleep in the street in front. it is better.
