Rooms: $525 a night to $7,500 for the 5,000-square-foot penthouse.
New and noteworthy: The name and the look have changed. It's now the Beverly Wilshire, a Four Seasons Hotel.
The stay: Good but not enough luxury "wow." Renovation seems half-hearted; room was oddly designed.
The scene: Almost famous.
The service: Excellent, professional.
Deal maker: Cut, the Wolfgang Puck steakhouse, is a see-and-be-seen spot.
Deal breaker: Cut was booked all weekend.
