For a cup of espresso made short and strong, with a proper crema, head to the new Espressamente Illy coffee bar, the first of many to come in the U.S. from premier Italian coffee roaster Illy. The vibe is smart and urban (that's why so many vacationing Europeans make this their morning coffee spot). The morning pastries could be better, but if you require the jump-start of a truly ferocious latte, an extra shot of espresso is just a buck.

Not good, despite the name...

I have been drinking espresso for many years - from italy to nyc to the usa west coast. i ordered a double espresso at espressamente illy - las vegas and it was, by far, the worst espresso i'd ever had. it was burnt, over-extracted, and bitter.

i brought the cup, still filled with espresso, back to the counter and told the barista of my dissatisfaction. she offered no apology, refund, or comment of any kind. the service was nothing short of juvenile and unprofessional. espressamente illy - las vegas is certainly not the place for a good espresso, and certainly not the place for professional or even respectable service. avoid!
