A top-to-bottom remodel of the former Aladdin has newly classed this place up with nary a hint of its former identity. The interior is impressive, classic Hollywood glamour, with plenty of curving lines and dramatic folderol on columns and the like. In sharp contrast to the chaotic entrance, the interior is actually much calmer than it used to be. Check out the imaginative slot toppers which usually proclaim "Double Diamond." All the usual casino suspects are still around,...

The truth hurts

The worst ever! (this site doesn't have anything but "like it" stars to chose from) bruce willis' reknowned bad taste and "screw the little people" attitude comes out in spades at the planet hollywood vegas. between a group of 5 booked rooms, 2 of us were over charged at the spa to the tune of $420 (check your credit card charges when you get home), 3 were promised upon reserving the $279/night room directly through the hotel, but did not get an upgraded room, and 2 of us at a group meal at koi restaurant were never served our dinners! (and the "would you like it to go" attitude didn't help ease the $330 bill). the hotel smells like the labrea tar pits and the every-changing color scheme is a bad (out-of-sync color matching) recreation of the light show at lax. we won't even mention the upgraded hallways of gunmetal grey and red should-have-left it in the 1980's color scheme. absolutely skip this hotel and if you want the same quality for a better price, check out the golden nugget. the location isn't as central, but you get your money's worth over there.
