This is a 90-minute, intermission-free, heavy-on-the-special-effects, costly staging of Andrew Lloyd Webber's ubiquitous musical The Phantom of the Opera. The show's fans (and they are legion) will doubtless yowl, but they survived the movie adaptation, while the rest of us might be a little happier with some of the fat trimmed away, though somewhat befuddled by the plot. The lowdown: There's a guy in a mask, and he loves a girl who sings, and she loves him, but she...

Phantom: the las vegas spectacular is well...spectacular. to be honest, i was extremely nervous about its coming to vegas, my hometown, i've seen it twice on broadway and didnt want it to be ruined by a shortened, intermissionless version. however, i went to see it with my mom and a friend and we were all simply blown away. all my nerves were for nothing and i am proud to say i have seen it 3 times in the year it has been here in vegas and i am looking forward to my 4th time for my 17th birthday in about 3 weeks. every time i see it i love it more and more and can't wait until these 3 weeks are up! now the cast: although this is probably the best cast collectively i have ever seen, there are of course standouts, and, not to be cliche or anything, but the male leads are the best!!! tim martin gleason gives a real backbone to raoul with his consistently strong voice and commendable acting. however, although i have heard wonderful things about anthony crivello, the man who alternates the role of the phantom with brent barrett, i make sure whenever i go brent is performing...he is incredible!!!!! his voice is enough to shock even the most stoic of people and he can melt even the coldest of hearts with the phantoms sad, tender moments throughout the show. i must mention that both christines are also wonderful, although sierra boggess has sadly left the show, but im anxious to see the new christine who just came on board. this is the best show on the las vegas strip right now, it was named the #1 show of 2006 for nothing. its awe inspiring and spine tingling from start to finish and it is a must-see!
