Terrible

Posted by steve s on September 17, 2008

Terrible food, terrible service, waitresses trying to scam you out of $3 for extra tip.

Horrible service and shady staff.

Posted by Fishy  from el monte, CA  on August 11, 2008

My friends and i had just arrived in vegas on a saturday morning and since we didn't want to miss the fight that was going to be on later that night we ask the concierge at our hotel what was a good place to hang out and catch it on big screen. he recommeded the 40/40 club at the palazzo and also said we could get our own "reserved" rooms. we thought it was a great idea until we got there. they showed us to our room and started taking down our drinks. i looked the menu over and thought to myself, "these prices are a bit high". i ordered a drink anyways and since it was about dinner time we ordered some food to tie us over until we got out of there. what we ordered was a moderately price platter of food. what we got was rubbery shrimp, egg rolls (the cheap kind you get at the frozen food section), and hockey pucks (crab cakes). we were all hungry so we choked it down regardless. the waitress comes back about 10 minutes later and asked us to pay for the bill as she was leaving for the rest of the night. what happened after that is a huge mess. the waitress got our order wrong. then when we tried to talk to the manager about resolving what happened he wouldn't correct the bill. he comp'ed us a round of drinks which was nice of him, but we still ended up shelling out almost $700.00 for bad food. then what made it worse they tried to slap a $75.00 minimum charge per person after shift change. we argued our point and they didn't press the issue any further. i saw them do the same shell game to almost every single part that was sharing the supposed "reserved" room. i chuckled a little bit when i heard a younger gentleman exclaim "does jay-z know you're running his club to the ground?" as he stormed out with his lady friend.

i was absolutely disgusted with this club by the end of the night and would not inflict this club and its staff to my worse enemies.

Talk about disappointing!

Posted by NB  from LA , CA  on July 7, 2008

This place sucks! i was so disappointed. everything in vegas was sooo fun. who would've known that the worst part of our trip was jay-z's 40/40. i was so surprised at how ridiculously boring and uncomfortable it was. i went on a saturday. they had more security than club-goers. they have alot of seats which were all empty. this is a place fit for posers! we went, paid, bought a drink, and cut...

4040 club in vegas will be closed by 2009

Posted by RobFromOhio  from Euclid, OH  on June 18, 2008

I went to the 4040 club recently on a friday evening around 10:00 pm and it was absolutely empty. the food was good and the prices were fair so i did not understand why know one was there until i went back on saturday evening. i got there around 11:00 pm and could not get in because i had on a pair of lugz shoes that the undereducated bouncer at the door said "dem is boots", to wich i replied "what is your definition of a boot" to which he replied "dem is boots". they were not boots. an elitist attitude when the place is empty is foolish. also, when i walked up to the club their were hotel and club security guards everywhere so you kind of know what you are in for. as a black man i felt offended by all the security looking at me like i was a crminal. don't open a club that attracts people like me and my money if you don't trust me. lastly, i spent my time and money elsewhere.....and i wore "dem" shoe boots.

Raspushia headquarters: 4040 las vegas

Posted by D  from Phoenix, AZ  on April 4, 2008

This place was nothing but a hot mess. some dude try to sell me gold going up the stairs before entering the club, that should have been my first clue. the big o bouncer dude let all these 300lb raspushia looking women in there, but had the nerve to look at me like i was wearing rags, gucci, prada, dont think so foo. inside, was even worse. the bartender dude in the way back bar was nothing but a rude ignorant d**k telling people to go somewhere else if they didnt like his service, $50 minimum, the music sucked. it was a total nightmare. we lasted about 15 minutes in there before i pulled my group and left. sorry jay z, but this place is wack.

Service

Posted by TC  from LA, CA  on March 10, 2008

The first thing they ask is how will you be paying, cash or credit card. they do not accept amex. then they want your credit card up front and your driver's license. which they insisted on keeping until i paid. we had 2 drinks and 2 appetizers,we are 2 middle aged women.did they think we would run out? we went at 730 on a saturday and it was almost empty. the food is fair, the fried deviled egg was tough, the chicken had no flavor and the crab cakes were ok. the waitress said so many people come to vegas and then go home and dispute the charges. to me that is the cost of doing business. the 11%tip was also included and there is a spot for an additional tip. we ate at fabulous restaurants and did not receive this type of treatment or have to provide a credit card up front. sounds like they are not expecting return customers.

What the hell

Posted by New Years Eve Girl  from Virginia Beach, VA  on February 11, 2008

What the hell is the 40/40 club supposed to be or offer to its patrons? i have the answer absolutely nothing. i visited the 40/40 club for my birthday and what a big waste of time. it promised champange toast at midnight included with the $80.00 general admission ticket. guess what we got? four shots of grey goose vodka for $60.00 bucks. the staff was rude, the atmosphere sucked big time. if i wanted to listen to jay-z songs (that noone has ever heard before) not the hits or old new editions songs i could have stayed at home in my living room. bottom line is that this club stinks regardless of the area in which it is located. oh by the way they do not let you sit down unless you are balling enough to purchase a table for $525.00 or bottle of grey goose for 325.00. talk about inflation. last time i check the liquor store sold grey goose for about 50 bucks. go here if you dare but remember gas is high as hell why waste your money making the rich richer.

Waste of time, money, & outfit

Posted by LV Born&Bred on January 24, 2008

This club sucks. i'm born and bred lv & i must say this club has no clue wtf is up. the only reason i gave it a star is because the staff is great. the management, watered down drinks, food (ugh!) costco/wal-mart frozen apps, sucked! whomever is at the helm of this operation needs some type of business training. seriously. my friends and i were shooed from our table for no apparent reason; they claimed the table was "sold" whatever that means; i could have counted the number of people in there easily. being that 20 million was invested in this endeavor, someone should probably teach management a thing or two about how to run the place. patronize at your own risk!
