Avoid the luxor

Posted by jalisco  from kingsville, TX  on November 8, 2007

1. no one told us beforehand there were no tubs, only showers. 2. the furniture was damaged--bureau did not work properly and snagged some of my clothing. 3. no one told us at check-in that a $300 hold was being placed on our credit card. as this card is our "travel expenses" card, it was maxxed out with this hold. had they told us, we would have given them another card to use. the desk clerks, assistant manager and manager all stuck to their story and never admitted that a mistake was made. overall: it was a dismal experience. i will never stay at the luxor again, and i will never stay at a hotel managed by barry vaccaro.

Robbed at the luxor

Posted by SBLady  from Santa Barbara, CA  on August 26, 2007

I was attacked and had my purse snatched in the casino of the luxor. security was very ineffective and tried to talk me into not filing a police report. when i complained to management, i got a form letter in response. the lvpd told me that this happens all the time, but rarely gets reported. be very careful if you stay in this hotel.

Luxor sucks in every way!

Posted by gc  from los angeles, CA  on April 2, 2007

Never stay here, unless you don't mind getting stuck in the inclinators, almost getting robbed and assaulted in the stuck inclinator because they are so isolated and there are no security guards around, and the so-called management doing absolutely nothing about it. and this happened to a 60 year old lady who was there celebrating her bday. when the management was advised of this situation, no one reported it to the security. all they did was offer excuses on why the inclinators get stuck sometimes and did nothing about the man who was harassing her and who wouldn't help her out of the stuck inclinator unless she gave up her cell phone. and in addition, we stayed in the pyramid spa suite which was pretty dirty. the windows had not been cleaned, inside and out, there were smudge stains all over them and the carpets were so dirty and completely falling apart. also, i had initially thought that they did not put security guards at the elevator entrances anymore but it's only at luxor where they don't have them anymore. which is stupid because, if anything, they should definitely have one when there inclinators are sooooo isolated and break down so easily!!! the management was very insensitive to the situation, only offering excuses and no real solution or even sympathy. would never recommend this place!!!!
