Damaged goods

Posted by Luxor Demolish it!  from San Francisco, CA  on September 7, 2009

Arrived after a 9 hour drive for labor day weekend!
check in went ok, went to the room, the carpet had stains; the beds were sagging, old and small (advertised as queen size actually full size beds).
the bathroom door was rotted out at the bottom. the linens were old and needed to be replaced. towels had seen better days!
but i was tired...
went to valet the next morning to claim my car... it arrived damaged! they were using my car to shuttle co-workers to the lot! the rear 1/4 panel was severely damaged! i asked the driver what happened. he said it wasn't me and walked away… he said several drivers had been driving my car!
i said wait... you damaged my car! he said i needed to wait for security!
30 minutes later after filing a report! i received a copy of my complaint... nothing else! no acknowledgement that the damage was caused by them. they basically said "prove it" asked for the management to come out, she told me to contact their claims management department because she could do nothing. i asked for a copy of the valet claim check to submit to my insurance i was refused saying it was against company policy! i ask for a business card... she didn't have one!
management has no clue!
don't stay here!

How to ruin a weekend

Posted by NeverAgain  from tucson , AZ  on May 5, 2009

Two nites to go to vegas and get away. the room walls had marks, the carpet had stains, the beds were sagging, old and small. the bathroom door was rotted out at the bottom. the linens were dirty and unkept. my wife's video poker machine broke while she had money in it. we waited for someone to come and fix it and the bartender charged my wife 12 dollars for a drink because she wasn't playing while the machine was broken. i asked to see a manager and no one came. i went to the hotel manager and she ignored me. want to be treated badly? this is the place to go.

Buffalo bill's would have been better! awful!

Posted by fine_french_lace  from Miami, FL  on January 27, 2009

I chose this hotel for my honeymoon stay because of my wife's fascination with all things egyptian. i wholly regret this decision.

my first night was to be in a tower room with the rest of the stay confined to a bedroom-suite. first off, they put us in a tower room with two beds. they were not only small and uncomfortable for my wife and i, but we specifically asked for only one. next, the tower elevators have serious shaking problems to the point where my wife actually became physically ill. the soap they provide caused an allergic reaction in both of us.

when they finally put us in the bedroom suite we were awoken at seven in the morning because of drilling a few floors above us, which they neglected to mention was occurring. they moved us to another suite that had no bathrobes (took over two hours to deliver) and when the maid cleaned it she left the door wide open with my wife's purse in open view while the maid was in the back. the maid also neglected to provide us new coffee or new soap.

the dining staff was exceptionally slow, over an hour to obtain overpriced cheese, and did not provide bottle openers for our champagne! it took them over half-an-hour to bring that to us. they also attempted to charge us for in-room calls, which was supposed to be free with our room.

the response of their customer service was to offer a discount for a week's stay, which ended up being $40 less than a rate you could get with a promotion code! the general manager tried to convince us this was a good discount, after the rash and drilling ruining our wedding night, and kept having me repeat everything i was telling him. i don't think he was even paying attention.

worst stay ever. would not go back if it were even free. thank you for ruining my honeymoon, luxor.

Crossed off my list

Posted by dissapointed  from Wake Forest, NC  on January 13, 2009

Just got back from my vegas trip. stayed as the luxor for the last two nights of my trip, i had reserved a spa suite back in september. i called the main hotel number the day of, and asked to confirm my reservation, i was transferred to an offsite central reservations center. the gal confirmed my reservation, i inquired about check in time and was advised that early check in was possible that day (11:30am). we attempted to check in @ noon, 1:30, and 5pm. after waiting 15-30 mintues each attempt and one person was rude. i asked what they were going to do and after getting a manager's approval, i was given another room, luckily it was also an upgrade, near the top of the pyramid. during our 2 night stay, i noticed the luxor no longer has a "theme", remnants of an egyptian theme remain although they half remodeled to remove as much as possible without actually tryign something new. the carpets in the room and down the halls are worn and the building aesthetics are showing their age from years of neglect. everything in this place shows the worn look. i have stayed in better days inns and for cheaper. i would recommend visitng, just not staying.

Will stay again

Posted by big duke  from level green, PA  on December 10, 2008

Arrived at the luxor hotel to a very long check in line, a mr.vaccaro came by and told the ladies in the vip line to check us in and to assist the other people also waiting. since we were early the lady directed us to a place to eat in the luxor and advised us that are room was still being made up since it was a long plane flight and i was somewhat rude, they took care of our luggage and upgraded us to a slighty larger room no charge. i apoligized since i was rude and mr. vaccaro stated no need to apoligize and to see him if there was anything else he could do. when my wife inquired about coffee in the room he pointed out a starbucks in the lobby which made my wifes day. this is the only hotel were we will stay. thank you to mr vaccaro, the valets and the front desk staff

Horrible stay

Posted by dont ever go there  from los angeles, CA  on October 19, 2008

We were staying there for 2 nights. right after we got into the room and wanted to take a shower, the shower was clogged. it was 1 am so they said that we had to wait until the next day to have it fixed. they didnt have any other room available so we also had to wait until the next day to move to another room. they never refund any money for the damage but we will never stay there again. these people should be out of business for the hotel that they are offering and the horrible service.

Posted by black in the tub  from dayton, OH  on September 29, 2008

This hotel is terrible. we stayed there for four nights. the first night we get there i go to take a shower and the tub is backed up. called front desk to come fix it left for a few hours came back no on had been in our room to fix the problem. called back and three hours later got it fixed by a rude maintenance guy who temperately fixed the problem. next same thing on the last day there is come back to black stuff and water backing up in your tub. called the front desk and talked to the manager who said someone would be up right away two hours later still no one so i called back and it took another 45 mins. for someone to get up there. to this day im still trying to talk to the gm about this problem and he wont return my call. we didnt get comp. anything said they would move us to a room but we were leaving in three hours. wasnt going to move my room then. dont ever stay at this hotel

So-so

Posted by Dee  from Westminster, CA  on June 1, 2008

The room was ok, though very far from the main area, i am disabled so i chose a room specifically for the accessibility, but no one said it would be so far from everything. by far the worst thing was the creepy pictures of carrot top everywhere. he may be popular with some people but he gives me the creeps.

Horrible!

Posted by ILOVEVEGAS  from Los Angeles, CA  on January 27, 2008

our room was leaking water! we woke up @ 3am to the sound of water dripping on the floor. we called the front desk (took 5 minutes for someone to pick up) and the lady told us she will move us to another room. so we have to pack up all our stuff to move to another room. so where do we move at 3am in the morning, all the way to the end of the tower. it took us 5-6 minutes of walking just to reach it! and apparently the pyramid leaks water according to the bell boy that helped us move. they put us in a nice room (mold was on the ceiling, we were too tired to care), better then the one before but it was already 4 in the morning by the time we reached it and unpacked, and we were going to check out at 10 am. so during check out, we ask the front desk if there is anything they can do for us, and this rude manager comes over who seems already mad at us for even asking such a thing. she yells “we put you in a better room then the one you had before so in our view you have already been comp”. but we were only in there for 5 hours and that was to sleep, we would have been fine with the same room we had before. we didn’t ask for a better room, just one that wasn’t leaking water! she didn’t want to hear it and said she can’t do anything. i will never stay in the luxor again! do not book a room with the luxor you will regret it!
