Here's another property that is doing its best to keep up with the pace in Vegas, to mixed success. Though parts of Harrah's benefited from a reworking of the place a few years ago, the rest of it evokes Old Las Vegas in the way The Riviera does -- as in, dark, dated, and claustrophobic. Still, there is much to like here, and occasional quite good rates might make the so-so bits worth overlooking. Certainly, they want to be the fun and convivial place we wish more of Vegas...

Bad experience and didn't even get past check-in

Had a reservation for harrah's since june '09 for an august '09 trip. we got to vegas after a 2,000 mile / 5 hour flight from boston. arrived at harrah’s with our hotel confirmation in hand ready to spend money. after waiting in the extremely long line our reservation was not able to be processed and we were passed around from desk to desk we should have known it was a terrible place as other customers were complaining about a variety of issues...i will make a long story short, after 1 hour of trying to deal with harrah’s i was fed up and called mgm mirage directly across the street and they got me in immediately. if you go to vegas, stay at mirage for an exceptional time and quality customer service.
