As of early 2008, the target opening date for the first phase of the 61-story CityCenter resort had been pushed back from early to late 2009 (or possibly even early 2010), with a projected 4,100 guest rooms.
Planned elements of the $5-billion-plus MGM Mirage-owned CityCenter Las Vegas resort complex project include the Vdara Condo Hotel, Veer Towers, The Harmon and the Mandarian Oriental Las Vegas.
The property was previously occupied by the Boardwalk Hotel & Casino, which was imploded in May 2006.
CityCenter Las Vegas is situated between the Bellagio, the Monte Carlo, the Cosmopolitan (also under construction), I-15 and Las Vegas Boulevard South.
