Great but pricy and a long drive

Posted by snow crazy on March 11, 2007

Trips to mammoth are wonderful and i look forward to the natural snow massive terrain and high speed lifts but it's a seven hour drive people! also during peak season one day lift tickets near one hundered dollars however if you get there and pay the price it is one of the best resorts in the world and by far the best in driving distance.

Airport major "bump"

Posted by skiguy  from los angeles, CA  on March 6, 2007

Mammoth could be a world class resort.....but it's not because you cannot get there by air. it is easier to get to salt lake city than it is to mammoth.....will the town and developers ever strike a deal.......so far no way. it still takes 5-6 hours to drive to mammoth from the la area, yikes!!!...not me.

My favorite

Mammoth is my favorite place to ski. the variety and quality of the slopes is the best i've had. and the drive up 395 finishes in a place that feels a world away from los angeles.
