Utterly charming alternative to the ahwanee

Posted by McWong  from Castro Valley, CA  on November 28, 2008

Like the ahwanee, the wawona is one of the oldest hotels in the park, dating back to an earlier era of luxury hotels. it's out tunnel road so you'll drive a bit away from the center of the park to get to it, but it's *utterly* charming, old fashioned, like something out of the early 1900s. and not nearly as expensive, either! highly recommended, but book early!
