This hotel enjoys one of the best locations on the Kohala Coast, adjacent to the magnificent white sands of Hapuna Beach. The Hapuna Beach Prince is more formal than other hotels on the Kohala Coast; guests, many from Japan, dress up here, some in the latest Tokyo fashions. You won't feel comfortable parading around in your T-shirt and flip-flops.

The rooms are comfortable, all attuned to the fabulous ocean view and the sea breezes. Although the rooms are small for...

Beautiful place

Posted by weatherboy  from Atlanta, GA  on June 2, 2007

We stayed here last september and had a great, relaxing time. you wake up, go to the buffet, go to the pool, the ocean and then back to the room all effortlessly. no interaction with staff or chocolate covered fruit was necessary. 5 stars, except the long walk to the parking garage. and the big island gets a slight nod over maui in our opinion--would definately return!

Unhelpful staff for hapuna

Posted by jalani  from granada hills, CA  on April 27, 2007

This resort speaks beauty. however the staff for the most part was not friendly and made several mistakes on our stay. the manager was off putting and unhelpful. on top of the horrible service, my father sent chocolate covered strawberries as a surprise to our room the first night. well, there was no note attatched and we had no idea where they came from. we thought it came with the room. to my embarrasment, my dad wondered if we got them because i hadn't said anything when speaking to him. we were really upset so my fiance went to a friendly front desk man and explained the situation. that there had been a lot of mix ups at the resort but this was a matter of principle and we will not let this go. he was kind enough to take care of this matter. this was the only person who had excellent service. otherwise, it is not worth the hassle nor the money to not get first class treatment at a resort like this. you do not pay for what you get with the service that is for sure. beware!
