This is a great place to relax in the lap of luxury. Low-rise clusters of oceanview villas nestle between the sea and the greens of a new golf course. The Four Seasons has no concrete corridors and no massive central building -- it looks like a two-story town-house project, clustered around three seaside swimming pools and a snorkeling pond. The rooms are furnished in Pacific tropical style: light gold walls, hand-knotted rugs over clay-colored slate, and rattan-and-bamboo...

Opulent

Our first days there were very restful and luxurious. with our au pair looking after the children, we blissfully wandered the grounds and hung around the pool. the rooms, service and atmosphere were first class and better than our last high end resort stay on maui. we found this hotel recommended in hawaii the big island trailblazer guide and chose it mainly for its location. if you're looking for paradise, this is it. at this price we would have appreciated free bottled water in our room.

Nearly perfect

My favorite resort. we've been there three times and will soon return for a fourth. my only complaint is that last time we seemed to experience frequent billing mistakes which were, coincidentally, always in the hotel's favor.
