Amazing beauty

Posted by Elvis Costanza  from Santa Cruz, CA  on May 6, 2008

I took my nephew here a couple of years ago and it was far nicer than i even thought it would be. what a beautiful property! there is a long path at water's edge that's perfect for evening strolls. the room was very nice and opened on to the huge expanse of rolling lawn. the pool is a bit small but still nice and there is a kid's pool which is esp nice for us kidless types who need a mellow time. very nice bar/cafe at the pool area, nightly entertainment there, and just stupendous views everywhere you look. this was my 3rd trip to maui and my first to wailea. i will always stay there from now on. it's much less rainy and not at all crowded like the usual tourist haunts farther north. i actually thought this hotel was in many ways superior to the ritz carlton at kapalua. it was really great to be able to walk over to the shops and get snacks and sunblock, etc. we saved a lot of money that way. i unreservedly recommend the wailea marriott. go to the luau your first night there and get your aloha on.wait until you see the "lobby"!
