It was hard to see terrific Italian food leave the North Shore for the south, but hey, risotto happens. Chef Randall Yates and his wife, Joanna, took over a free-standing wood-and-stone building in Poipu and turned it into a storybook restaurant with fairy lights, high ceilings, beveled glass, and a generous open deck where you can dine among palms and heliotropes. (There's live classical music Fri and Sat 6:30 to 9:30pm on the baby grand piano.)

Can't wait to go back

I really enjoyed my experience at this restaurant. from the time the hostess learned my name is amechee (spelled differently but pronounced the same as amichi) i received the best of service. both the food and the service were excellent. i met the chef and was given a lei made by his wife. the chef/owner actually game me one of his recipes. i will definitely go back on my next trip to the island.

Make sure to track down this cosy italian place in the middle of the condos of poipu. the food is great, and and the service is impeccable.
