This tropical property has three bed-and-breakfast rooms in the main house and separate apartment vacation rentals on the same property. The large rooms in the house are reminiscent of the old plantation days, with shining wooden floors, huge bathrooms, and lots of privacy. Breakfast is served in the dining room; you're also welcome to take yours out on the lanai. The impeccably decorated one- and two-bedroom apartments are huge and come with big lanais, spacious living ro...

Great value: aloha-filled service, a short stoll from the beach

Posted by Andrew.Nystrom  from Los Angeles, CA  on July 3, 2007

Very personable service started from the moment we made contact via email about a possible reservation, and remained impeccable right through the moment we called after office hours to arrange pickup of some clothing we'd left behind. we didn't see the b&b rooms, but the 1bdr condo was perfect for our needs: well maintained, tasteful, functional (free wifi, cable tv, free local calls, fully equipped kitchen), plus shared bbq hot tub. their activity recs were spot on; nearly everything you need for a comfortable day at the beach is provided free on loan, except for boogie boards, which are easy to rent nearby. it's small and full of habitual return visitors, so book early. owners have refined art of running an imtimate, small-scale property with a personal touch. aloha, indeed. mahlo nui loa to the well-trained staff. i withhold a star only because this type of self-catering property isn't everyone's cup of tea; if you're looking to splash out on 5-star pampering, try the grand hyatt, which is a bit too grand-scale for my tastes.
