Paradise at hanalei surfboard house
Posted by yes, this place is amazing from san francisco, CA on September 2, 2009
What a great place in hanalei! spectacular views of waterfalls and hanalei bay surf just across the street. the hanalei bay surfboard house has everything you need in paradise! convenient kitchenette, barbecue in garden area, posh appliances and furnishings, ipod dock with bose system, flatscreen tv, private and quiet setting, private parking, and not to mention the impressive elvis memorabilia! there's also the "love shack" suite for all you romantics. highly recommended place by locals as well as other travelers.
aloha to kauai!!

The hanalei surfboard house is superb with it's private cottage-like suites, a block from the ocean, tranquil lush surroundings, and full luxury amenities. book fast! it's the best place on the island by far

My partner and i have stayed on kauai a few times in the past and the hanalei surfboard house is definitely our favorite. it did not have that cold “hotel” feel. the rental was an intimate, warm space that provided privacy and convenience. we could say that everything was perfect from the cleanliness, to the amenities, to the location, and the ambience; however, the weather could have been better. it rained almost our entire stay, but we still managed to find fun things to do and do not regret it one bit. worth every penny and overall, perfect! just be sure to check the weather.

This has to be "the best" place to stay in the hawaiian islands! simon potts is a wonderful host, caring for all of his guests, making sure everyone has a great stay.
we enjoyed staying only a half a block from beautiful hanalei bay and less then a mile from hanalei town.
the rooms are decorated with vintage hawaiian culture with a rustic beauty to them. they are large rooms with an excellent choice in furnishings. you get a beach hut feel with clean comfort. we were fortunate to stay in two of the three rooms that are offered.
we highly suggest this place. the gardens on the property are very tranquil and comforting. you can really feel relaxed and stress free here.

This was exactly the place my wife and i were looking for to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. tucked away in a cozy nook in hanalei, the suites offer a sense of peace and tranquility you can’t find anywhere else. hanalei bay, one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, is literally steps away. you’re close to amazing hiking trails, beaches, beautiful scenery, great food and fun shops. we were blown away with the suite we stayed in at the surfboard house. the price can’t be beat for the amenities and luxuries you receive. after each working so hard in the city this year, this was the perfect vacation we needed to rest and recoup, and the surfboard house is unbeatable as far as places to stay on the north shore. the only thing we had to adjust to is waking up to the sounds of birds singing, rather than sirens and dumpster trucks. if you’re planning to stay on the north shore of kauai, make sure you stay here.

A+++

I would definitely recommend this place without a moment of hesitation. as hotels become more and more busy, with floods of people pouring in, it’s really such a treat to find a quiet, charming place like this one. the suites are nestled in the cozy town of hanalei, right beside the beach and offer a level of comfort that’s hard to believe. the host is more accommodating and friendly than any personnel i’ve encountered in hotels around the world and his creativity and artistic sense of style and taste is difficult to come by these days. don’t miss out on this hidden treasure, i promise, you won’t regret it.

Stay here

I have stayed in nearly every vacation rental on the north shore of kauai, and none of them have compared to the hanalei surfboard house. i found that the room had everything i needed and the décor was unique and fun. the room was so quiet; i’ve never slept so well in my life. the beach was right across the way with a view that will literally take your breath away. next time i come back to kauai, i won’t be staying anywhere else.

Highly recommended!

My husband and i loved our stay at the hanalei surfboard house. not only was the room extremely clean, it offered many luxuries that most hotels don’t, including satellite, an ipod dock, wireless internet connection and even a washer/dryer unit right outside the suite! the house was just a few feet away from the hanalei bay, and the rooms come with beach towels, chairs and coolers for you to use. hanelei town is only a few minutes away, where you’ll find many choices of restaurants and shopping. the farmer’s market, where we bought fresh local fruits and vegetables is steps away as well. to top everything off, the host was exceptionally friendly and truly accommodating. i would recommend anyone to stay here!

I have to say that our experience in hanalei was the best part of our hawaiian vacation in part due to the incredible rooms we found at the hanalei surfboard house. what an ideal place , simon is the best host,no detail left unattended, the decor was impeccable, the mattress was 5 star, and the highest quality sheets and luxurious bath towels made us feel like we were at the four seasons. the privacy of your own back yard ,washer and dryer totally more than i could imagine from a bed and breakfast . not only do you have a bose stereo but 300 channels of tv and a wonderful c.d. collection. the ambience is highlighted with every esthetic detail. the bathroom is roomy and the shower was the nicest anywhere. it came complete with simon's great dog and two cats and the singing of birds made these three days the best. we will be back to this wonderful house in paradise aloha carrie&mark
