Officially known as Hearst San Simeon State Historical Monument. Fifty-six bedrooms, 61 bathrooms and 41 fireplaces, two pools, 90,080 square feet. Owned by the state since William Randolph Hearst’s Hearst Corp. donated it in 1957, open for tours since 1958.

Hearst castle is a must-see for any traveler along the central coast of california. it has it all...intrigue, views, art collections, gardens, architecture, a marvel of engineering too. there is no place else like this. you get a great overview tour, a bus ride to the hilltop, free parking, and admission to the imax theatre for about $20.
