News tip: Zagat.com, the well-respected restaurant authority, has launched Zagat.mobi. Now you can find Zagat-approved restaurants, nightlife and hotel info right on your mobile phone. So far there are 19 big cities listed including Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Seattle, Paris, Tokyo, Montreal, Las Vegas, Chicago, Miami, Washington D.C. and more. Biz travelers & roaming foodies, Zagat is sharing your motto: Eat, Drink, Stay, Play.
I started playing with Zagat.mobi’s Los Angeles Metro area and easily found recommended sushi restaurants. I particularly enjoyed the “New Openings” feature which let me know about new restaurants and listed the restaurant’s features so I could get the heads up on who hung out there, what their hours were, and contact info just for starters. Next I played with the Las Vegas hotel section and checked out their “Top Lists”. Zagat aims for the best of the best so I was not surprised to find high-end Vegas hotels like Four Seasons and Wynn on their Top lists. The Zagat.mobi listings are free, but subscribers get access to Zagat reviews. I’ve already bookmarked this url on my Palm and look forward to using other featured links like directions, movie times, airlines and using the SMS feature to send listings to friends.
