Despite the explosive restaurant coverage that the foodie world has seen on the web in recent years, Zagat’s books still matter to lots of restaurant-goers and business travelers. I haven’t bought a copy of Zagat: America’s Top Restaurants 2008, but of course I’m curious to know who won the popularity contest. This issue has 1,350 restaurants listed in 42 U.S. cities and regions. The book is based on 23 million meals experienced by 132,000 “surveyors”.
Best of the Best:

What about Los Angeles? They say the graders tend to be tougher in our town.
But, Asanebo, Nobu Malibu and Melisse had a high score of 28. They also called Angelenos some of the worst tippers at 18.4%
Tip: Remember, you can subscribe to Zagat online and get restaurant guide info on your mobile phone.
Are there any restaurants in Los Angeles that you think should’ve received a perfect score?
