If you’re looking for incentive to stretch your one-night getaway into two, here it is. Wyndham Hotels and Resorts is offering a superb deal on more than 50 hotels in the U.S. and a handful abroad, and fortunately for those without the flexibility to take off midweek, this one’s especially for weekend stays.
Deal: With the “Wyndham Weekender” offer, stay one night at a participating Wyndham and receive a second night for half off. Or if you’re traveling with friends, family or others with whom you might not prefer to share a room, you can take advantage of half off a second room instead.
International hotels participating in this offer include Wyndhams in Cozumel, Mexico; Mont-Tremblant, Canada; and London. Domestic options are available from Arizona to Wisconsin and beyond. The four California hotels participating are in Bakersfield, Costa Mesa, Palm Springs and San Jose.
Tested: I called to inquire about a stay at the Wyndham Orange County in Costa Mesa on a weekend in mid-September and was quoted a rate of $109 a night, pretax, for a king or two-queen room. Then I asked about what the reservation agents seem to refer to as the “50/50 deal,” and the price plummeted.
Under this deal, I was offered a rate of $99 for my first night, and the addition of the discounted second night made for a total of about $149, pretax, for the weekend. No advanced purchase is necessary, but availability is limited, said the reservation agent I spoke with.
When: The offer is valid for stays from Thursday through Sunday nights, now through Dec. 31.
