Roundup: Are iPhones cheaper in Mexico? Running of the bulls photos from Spain

Mexico | iPhones are cheaper in Mexico? The new iPhone goes on sale this Friday in Tijuana. The Los Angeles Times Technology blog lets us know that Mexican wireless carrier America Movil SAB said it would sell the iPhone 3G for 773 pesos, or about $75, with a two-year service plan. Still, trend-loving gadget seekers might want to consider all costs for a trip across the border. The U.S. State Department has a current Travel Alert regarding the violence happening on the U.S.-Mexico Border. Eleven bodies were found in Tijuana since Saturday — six of which were people who had been tortured and burned in what is believed to be drug-related violence.

Spain | If you couldn’t make the running of the bulls this year in Pamplona, here is a photo gallery to get you thirsty for visiting Spain next year. Have you ever participated in the running of the bulls during the Fiesta de San Fermin?

California Fires | Los Angeles Times staff writer Mary Forgione gives us an update on what is open around the Big Sur fire. Read: Big Sur fire: Rocky Point and Ragged Point are open. There is also a Big Sur photo gallery if you haven’t seen it already.
