If you check Ding! daily, you know that it must be difficult for Southwest Airlines to keep coming up with witty, attention-grabbing headlines that lure you into their daily sales. Alternatively, you might be sick of their chipper calls for attention. Either way, the deals are there and they must be looked at. Why not write the headlines yourself and win some travel while you’re at it?
Contest: Southwest is having a contest to celebrate the third anniversary of their deal alert application, Ding! They want to refresh their headlines and are turning to their readership to create unique, clever, creative and humorous headlines.
Prizes: You can win one of two grand-prize packages (three- or four-night cruise on Royal Caribbean for two to your choice of the Bahamas or Mexico), two first-prize packages (two Southwest Airlines round-trip tickets, a two-night hotel stay and a weekend rental car) or one second-place prize (a $500 Southwest gift card).
Caveat: Darn it! The contest is only open to amateur writers.
What to do: Join Ding! if you haven’t already. Click the contest link to get the submission form. Write and submit your entertaining headlines with 150 characters or less (including spaces).
Deadline: The contest runs until March 7, 2008, at 9:59 p.m. Winners will be notified by certified mail.
