The next time you hop aboard the Universal Studios Hollywood backlot tour, keep an eye out for Cha-Ka, Sleestak, Will Ferrell and other strange creatures from the upcoming “Land of the Lost” movie.
Theme park visitors on the Universal Studios backlot tour currently pass by Soundstages 12 and 28, where the big-screen adaptation of the 1970s television series is filming. The tour does not include access to the “Land of the Lost” closed set, but visitors might catch a glimpse of movie stars or costumed characters coming and going from the soundstage. (Hat tip to Screamscape.)
In the adventure-comedy scheduled to premiere in July 2009, Ferrell stars as Park Ranger Rick Marshall, who inadvertently stumbles into a mysterious land populated by dinosaurs and other creatures, including the mysterious and dangerous race of Sleestak, according to Internet Movie Database.
The former “Saturday Night Live” cast member previously starred in “Semi-Pro,” “Blades of Glory,” Talladega Nights” and “Old School.”
