Las Vegas - What to do about Monte Carlo reservations?

As you’ve probably heard by now, the Monte Carlo Resort & Casino caught fire in Las Vegas Friday morning.

Hotel guests were given alternate accommodations at MGM Mirage sister properties including the Signature, MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, the Mirage and Treasure Island. Refunds were given to guests who had tickets to the Lance Burton: Master Magician show.

If you are coming to Las Vegas this weekend and have reservations at the Monte Carlo, your reservations will be honored at sister properties. The Monte Carlo asks that you call their reservations department at (888) 395-0776 [staffed Monday-Friday 6 a.m.-midnight, Saturday-Sunday 7 a.m.-midnight] to make arrangements.

Vegas.com reacted quickly and has been calling all of its customers who had reservations through the next seven days. They were working with the MGM Mirage to relocate guests to other MGM Mirage properties. Vegas.com encourages concerned customers to call its 24/7 customer service line (866) 998-3427 if you have any questions.

Dubai has been everywhere in the travel press recently, and it’s been on my own personal travel wishlist for a few years now. Why? Not least because you can snow ski in 120-degree heat or sandboard at sunset on the sweeping desert dunes. Very cool whichever you choose. The LA Times Travel Blog has eye-catching stories about sleeping in a Phoenix monastery during the Superbowl; and what to do if you have reservations at the Monte Carlo hotel in Las Vegas, which caught some bad publicity on Friday when it was damaged in a fire.
