Venice Connected: A new online Venice booking service

The Venice tourism bureau just launched an Internet reservation service offering budget-conscious, advance-purchase travel packages that include city-side parking, bus and vaporetto passes, tickets to attractions like the Correr Museum and Ducal Palace and free admission to the casino.

Venice Connected, as the program is called, attempts to control crowds in La Serenisima by tailoring prices to demand and attracting more visitors during low seasons.

In other words, travelers can save money by booking a Venice Connected package during the tourist off-seasons.

When is that?

The website has color-coded package date ranges — green, blue and red. For instance, during the green days of March a three-day package for two costs about $250. Blue and red packages are more expensive.

Andiamo.
