The archipelago of Turks and Caicos east of Cuba overcame Hurricane Ike without substantial damage. Now merchants and hotel owners are begging sun-loving tourists to come back to these 40 some islands and cays.
Well, the Turks and Caicos tourism bureau wouldn’t call it “begging.” They would call it “offering incentives,” such as a 50% off at the 21-suite Turks & Caicos Club on Grace Bay Beach, valid between Oct. 1 and Nov. 9, 2008. Meanwhile, the Tuscany at Grace Bay is offering two free nights, representing a 30% savings, now through Oct. 31, when guests book a seven-night vacation — a minimum savings of $1,000.
Other deals are available through the Turks and Caicos Islands Tourism Bureau.
The caveat? Hurricane season continues through November.
