Am I the only one jonesing for in-flight Wi-Fi? Surely there are business travelers the world over hoping for the same thing. So you can imagine my drool when I saw the king of gadget blogs, Engadget, Twitter their post bout Alaska Air announcing their promise of in-flight Wi-Fi in 2008.
But the question is, who will be first? Qantas has announced the same and so has Shenzen Airlines. And, when I was in my 1st-class seat aboard Virgin America, they had all the plugs and USB ports at the ready for the arrival of Wi-Fi. When I asked the staff about it, they said it’s coming, but they didn’t have any release dates.
Right now it seems like there have been more airlines pulling out of the race for in-flight Wi-Fi than there have been those stepping up to the plate.
So, who do you think will be first? My bet is on Virgin.
