As if Hawaii didn’t offer enough outdoor fun, visitors can now see Maui from a speeding, tree-top-skimming zip line.
The historic Piiholo Ranch, near Makawao, opened a zip line course in December that includes what is billed as Hawaii’s longest zip line.
The entire course, covering approximately 100 acres, includes one stretch of four side-by-side lines, and five tracks of two side-by-side lines, a 317-foot suspension bridge, a 42-foot-tall climbing tower and a rope course.
The longest line is 2,800 feet, extends up to 600 feet off the ground and facilitates speeds of up to 40 mph.
The zip line is open Mondays through Saturdays; tours range from $140 to $190 per person. Call (808) 572-1717 to make reservations.

Wow, that looks awesome. I have a zip line of my own in my backyard, but it’s not even close to that long. I got mine at http://railrunnerzipline.com . Check it out if you’re looking for a fun project!

If you are looking for a zipline adventure to beat them all, this is the place. The guides are absolutely excellent, they are heavy into safey, which is very important with an activity such as this. Yet, they make this very fun for all. The snacks were ok, there was little selection. I would bring my own next time. However, you will not find a better zipline on Maui!
