Tablet Hotels - luxe, hip, chic and on sale

Upgrade your chic by staying at a Tablet Hotel. You know you’ve always wanted to but they were either too pricey, too far away or, let’s face it, you didn’t have the wardrobe to even hang out in the lobby. Well, borrow some clothes because Tablet’s summer sale is hot enough to make it worthwhile.

Deals: Hollywood Roosevelt, right in our own backyard, is on sale with rooms starting at $239 Sundays and Mondays, July 6-Aug. 31, 2008. While I did find rooms for $239 on a Sunday in July, $279 was also a common midweek rate. Yes, there is a difference when booking with Tablet. I found the $239 rate on Sunday July 20, through Tablet Hotels, but when I checked the price on the hotel’s main website, the rate was $279 for that night.

Mexico: Deseo in Playa Del Carmen has a stay-three-nights, pay-for-two offer. The offer is valid for stays Sept. 1-Nov. 30. When I tested it, I found it a little confusing that the Tablet rates already reflect the discount. The good news is that midweek rates were $88 per night, but if my trip included a weekend night, I saw a charge of $146 for that day. A Tuesday-Friday trip saw the steepest discount.

New York: The Hotel on Riverton (pictured) has rooms starting at $285 nightly, valid July 1-Aug. 31, 2008. The offer is subject to availability. I tested July 23-25 for two people and found a king room for $349 per night. On the hotel’s main website, the best I could find was $415 per night for a “double double” room.
