Hey Trekkies and Trekkers, this weekend is your last chance to go on a mission at Star Trek: The Experience in Las Vegas. After 11 years, the interactive adventure, museum, bar and restaurant will be closing. Monday, Sept. 1, 2008, is its final day. If you are only finding out right now, head on out to the Las Vegas Hilton and visit the Klingon Encounter and Borg Invasion 4-D one more time.
Special event: There will be a Decommissioning Ceremony on Monday with Suzie Plakson as the emcee. It is free and open to the public; go to the entrance of the attraction, the ceremony will begin promptly at 10 p.m.
No more weddings: As you can imagine, there will be weddings throughout the weekend, but if you heard about the Monday wedding ceremony open to 25 couples, that has been canceled. No more weddings are being scheduled.
Tickets: $49.99 per ticket for adults. Or save $5 by purchasing them online.
Bonus tip: There was such a demand by fans to take one of the final rides that tickets for five of the final rides are up for grabs on EBay. Prices start at $500 with the highest bid so far at $700. In addition to getting to be one of 27 people taking the final ride, the winning bidders will also be seated in the exclusive VIP seats for the Decommissioning Ceremony, receive a special commemorative item and be invited to attend the private staff party after the ceremony.

I have always loved Star Trek. I grew up watching Kirk and Spock. It’ll be sad to have it close.

Really bummed to hear this. I went to this for the first time last summer on a business trip and really wish that I could have taken my family back to it. Any word on if it’s going to be moved somewhere?
