It’s beginning to look a lot like … ski season.
Bear Mountain and Snow Summit in Big Bear Lake open at 8:30 a.m. today (Dec. 11) after weather conditions have proved to be good for snow-making. The resorts are announcing an 8- to 12-inch base with good coverage, according to a press release. Miracle Mile and Central Park runs will be open top to bottom.
Special early-season ticket prices, available Thursday through Sunday, cost $35 per adult (22 and older), $28 per young adult (13 to 21) and $15 per child (7 to 12). Half-day lift tickets cost $30 per adult, $23 for young adults and $10 for children. (One lift ticket is good for both mountains.)
Mountain High near Wrightwood also has been making snow and opened Wednesday. Early season tickets run $40 for adults (eight hours), $35 for adults (four hours), $30 adult night ticket (5 to 10 p.m.) and $24 for children 7 to 12.
