Colorado & Lake Tahoe: Ski for three days and the kids eat free

Kids play in snow in Vail, Co.

Add this one to the growing list of incentives offered by the economically troubled travel industry: If you ski for at least three days at one of the five Vail Resorts, your kids get up to $45 in free food vouchers.

When parents book a three-day, three-night ski or snowboarding vacation through Vail Resorts before Dec. 14, they get up to $30 in dining vouchers per child per day, to be spent at on-mountain eateries. (Limit two kids per family.) If the families stay at a participating Vail Resort property, each kid gets an additional $15 dining voucher.

The “Kids Eat Free “deal is available this season at Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone resorts in Colorado and Heavenly ski resort in the Lake Tahoe area. Vail and Heavenly are scheduled to open Nov. 21.  Beaver Creek opens Nov. 26. Breckenridge and Keystone opened Nov. 7.
