Alas, Huntington Beach is a centenarian, having celebrated, on Feb. 17, 2009, its 100-year anniversary of being incorporated. The Orange County beach city has various centennial-related events ongoing through the year, and the soon-to-open Shorebreak Hotel is joining in on the fun with a special deal for Southern Californians.
The new 157-room hotel, just off the beach on Pacific Coast Highway, is set to open May 12.
Deal: Try out a deck or city-view room for $100 with the “Summer of the Century” deal, available to anyone living within a 100-mile radius of Huntington Beach (you must show your driver’s license upon check-in to prove eligibility). One hundred rooms weekly will be available at this rate.
You must book 30 days in advance of your stay; use promotion code “SBK100.” A one-night stay inclusive of tax will cost $111 total. So you know what you’re saving here: Regularly available rates will be in the range of $179 and up on weekends, and $199 and up on weekdays, pre-tax.
The property’s also-new Zimzala restaurant will be offering a “centennial menu” for $100 for a party of two (excluding tax and tip). The tasting menu with wine pairings will include an appetizer of Portuguese crab cakes and, for the entrée, a choice of onion-smothered rib-eye steak or asparagus risotto and scallops.
When: This deal is valid for stays May 12 through Aug. 23, 2009.
