Seven-night Mexico cruise for $590

Hop aboard the Norwegian Star for a cruise in Mexico this fall at an enticingly low price. Your departure and arrival point is in Los Angeles, and once in Mexico, you’ll explore a few hot spots along the Gulf of California: Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan and then on to Puerto Vallarta.

Deal: The best deal available at present for the seven-night Mexico tour is the sailing that departs Nov. 29, 2008 (yes, that’s two days after Thanksgiving); the cruise ends on Dec. 6, 2008. Interior staterooms start at $449 (before taxes and fees) per person based on double occupancy and are available at this rate through various agencies, including America’s Vacation Center and VacationsToGo.com.

With fuel surcharges, port fees and taxes, that comes to $589.78 total per person, according to the agent I spoke with at America’s Vacation Center — not bad for seven nights of the cruising life. The majority of other scheduled sailings for this cruise cost from $469 to $499 per person, before taxes and fees.

For a limited time (no end date stated), through America’s Vacation Center, you’ll receive shipboard credit with your package purchase: $25 per stateroom for the lowest price level rooms on up to $150 per stateroom for suites.
