I checked the Hotwire Travel Ticker today and was excited to see “50% off two luxury resorts in Sedona, AZ.” I’ve always heard great things about Sedona and would love to take a cush weekend getaway. The problem is, when I looked at the photos on the deal’s promotion, the bedroom looked far from luxe? So, which is it — a cheap room or a good deal at a luxe resort?
Deal: Stay at either the Ridge on Sedona Golf Resort or the Sedona Summit Resort in a studio for only $77/night with a two-night minimum. It sounds like a fair price, but after looking at the photos for both properties, neither could be considered luxe accommodations. The Sunterra Ridge on Sedona Golf Resort gets mixed reports on TripAdvisor including warnings about timeshare pitches.
Tip: You know what luxe means to you. Trust your judgment, ask around. Just input the hotel’s name into a Google search and you can find reviews, articles and more. Just be careful when something is hyped. If it sounds too good to be true, it just might be.
When: Book by Dec. 11, 2007, for travel until Dec. 20 and also from Jan. 1-Feb. 29, 2008.
