Into the Wild is in theaters now. I haven’t seen it yet, but look forward to Sean Penn’s take on Jon Krakauer’s best-selling book, Into Thin Air. Chris McCandless is played by Emile Hirsch. Calendar Live has already written their movie review and Outside Online has a 10-page article and interview: “I want this movie to grip people in the heart,” with Director Sean Penn, Chris’s parents Billie and Walt McCandless and his sister Carine McCandless as well as other producers, cast and crew from the movie.
If that doesn’t get you revved up, watch a trailer for Into the Wild and listen to the soundtrack on the movie’s official blog. Pearl Jam fans will like that Penn hand picked Eddie Vedder to score the music for the film. IMDb has a list of all the filming locations for Into the Wild including:
Cantwell, Copper River, Healy, Denali National Park, Alaska and even our Los Angeles.
Have you ever visited any of the locations that Chris explored? What’s your take on the movie? Is it better than Krakauer’s book?
